Pharaoh is a male lion. “King of the Jungle”

Name: Pharaoh
Status: Although the population is declining, Lions are not currently listed as endangered.
Distribution: The Lion is found throughout the south Sahara desert and in parts of southern Africa.
Size: Males stand at a shoulder height of about 4 feet and reach 5 ½ to 8 feet in length. Their tails average a length of 3 feet and can weigh as much as 330 lbs. to 500 lbs. Females are much smaller than males.
Food: Pharaoh eats up to 20 lbs. Of meat a day. His diet consists of Beef, Pork, and Deer. His food is supplemented daily with vitamins and calcium to insure him a long and healthy life.

Lifespan: 15 years in the wild, 24 years in captivity. Pharaoh was born in 2001.
